Ofsted 2017
Following an Ofsted Inspection on 22 March 2017, The Sele School was again recognised as a Good school. The Inspectors noted that the school has maintained a good quality of education since the previous inspection. They commented that ,“the school is a happy place where pupils enjoy learning” and after observing lessons, identified confident and engaging teaching.

Inspectors reported that behaviour in lessons and around the school is very positive and pupils work diligently and get on well together. They went on to comment that careers education and preparation for the world of work are a strength in both the main school and the Sixth Form.
Members of the Senior Leadership Team within the school and the Chair of Governors expressed their thanks to all the staff at The Sele School and to the Students and their parents who work together to make the school successful. The Headteacher, Neil Dunn, said, “I believe this accurately reflects where we are as a school; highlights students’ positive attitudes and willingness to strive to be their best. It is also recognition of the incredibly talented and hardworking staff who share the vision of making The Sele School an outstanding place to learn.”
Sharon Gray, Deputy Headteacher, said, “I am delighted that the Inspectors recognised that the students at The Sele School behave well, feel safe and have the quality of teaching and pastoral care that will enable them to be successful in their learning.” while Julia Bateson, Chair of Governors, added, “The Sele Governors are pleased with this deserved outcome. Moving forward, we are committed to the continuous improvement of our school. We support Mr Dunn and his team to successfully inspire and motivate our students to achieve their very best by developing the quality of education and variety of opportunities. This inspection confirms that we are heading in the right direction.”
