Transition to Secondary School

The transition from primary to secondary school is an exciting time for our new students and their parents. To try and make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible and that everyone knows what to expect, we follow the timetable below in introducing our new students to the school:

• April - Welcome

You will receive a welcome letter when you have been allocated a place at the school 

• May - Information letter

You will receive a further letter detailing information over the summer term to support your child's transition to secondary school 

• May / June - Visits and Information gathering

The school will liaise with your child's primary school and gather information to ensure we have all the information we need to support your child. This may include visits to the primary school where staff will introduce themselves to your child 

• July - Transition day

There is a county wide transition day where your child will come to the school to experience life at The Sele School 

• July / August- Summer School

As a school we run a summer school where your child can gain experiences with their new peers ahead of a September start
